Seen and Heard: Teenagers Talk About Their Lives by Mary Motley Kalergis
"School is a totally different experience than skating. The opposite, really. Sitting cooped up inside, trying to hold still and listen to all this boring stuff that you're not interested in is not my first choice of how I'd like to spend my day. It's almost like time moves at a slower speed in the classroom. " Patrick McQuilkin (15)

I really love being a kid. I'm in no particular hurry to be a grown-up. I don't even have my learner's permit, even though I've been old enough for almost a year, I haven't got around to it. I love to go back deep in the woods and go camping. Cook up a big ole fat breakfast in the morning. It's always an adventure. I love to go marsh tromping. We wade out into the muck and get caked in mud. The dogs come along with us and have as much fun as we do. You can spend all day out there and have no worries.
