Mother: A Collective Portrait by Mary Motley Kalergis
"Watching her grow, learning
to walk and talk, she makes me feel things I've never been able to feel before.
I feel so lucky to have her. I'm more aware of things that go on in live. I
don't take anything for granted.
My boyfriend wanted this baby as much as I did. He wants more. I won't marry my baby's daddy until he gets baptized. I've been talking to him a lot about it lately. If he can make that kind of commitment to God, then I could trust him more. I'd like more kids too, but not with out a husband.
My own mother had all the responsibility for raising us. She was a strong woman. I used to feel I didn’t need a man to raise a child, but now I think it's better to have someone I can care for and who cares for me. All the men I knew in the past have just been disappointments. I haven't been putting too much hope in finding someone who would really commit himself to raising a child." -- Mary Anderson (left)
